HARVEY L. MASSEY
Chairman of the Board
Mr. Massey has owned and operated Massey Services since February 1985. He has over 44 years experience in all facets of the pest management industry. Prior to purchasing the Walker Chemical Company in Orlando, Florida, Mr. Massey served in senior management with two of the largest international companies in the pest management industry, Rollins, Inc./Orkin Pest Control and Terminix International.
Mr. Massey is an acknowledged leader in the pest management industry, having received the 1998 PCT Professional of the Year Award and the ICI/Pest Control Technology Magazine Industry Leadership Award in 1992. He served on the Board of Directors and Executive Board of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA). He is a Past Chairman of the Pest Control Research and Advisory Board of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and was the first Chairman of the Professional Pest Management Alliance.
In addition to operating his business and serving his industry, Mr. Massey is a highly active and visible community citizen. In 2007, he was recognized by the “Orlando Business Journal” as one of Orlando’s “Most Influential Citizens.” He is a recent recipient of the Florida Hospital Foundation “William Trickel, Jr. Volunteer Award,” in addition to being named the Orange County 2006 Citizen of the Year. He has also received the Leukemia Society’s Service to Mankind award, the Jewish National Fund's “Tree of Life” award, Junior Achievement’s “Spirit of Achievement” award, and has been recognized by UCP of Central Florida with the J. D. Holloway Star of Gratitude.
Mr. Massey has led a variety of community-based organizations including Florida Citrus Sports, the organization which hosts the Florida Citrus Bowl, and United Arts of Central Florida. On February 1, 2007, Mr. Massey was appointed by Florida Governor Charlie Crist to serve on the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority. Mr. Massey was Chairman of the Orange County Arts and Cultural Affairs Task Force. For his passionate support for Central Florida arts and cultural institutions and for his leadership on the Orange County Task Force, Orlando Mayor Glenda Hood proclaimed October 18, 2001 Harvey L. Massey Day.” In the November 2001 Edition of Orlando Magazine, Mr. Massey was named one of the community’s 20 Most Powerful People. Mr. Massey currently serves on the Board of Directors Wachovia National Bank and is a member of the Corporate Council of the Economic Development Commission. In addition, he currently serves as Chairman of the Winter Park Memorial Hospital Fundraising Campaign. He is a former Board Member of the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce, Orlando/Orange County Convention and Visitors Bureau and Dr. Phillips, Inc.
An ardent supporter of education, Mr. Massey is a member of the Rollins College President’s Leadership Council, and has previously served on the Board of Governors of Stetson University and the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement. In September 2007, Mr. Massey was elected to the Board of Directors of the Pontifical Irish College, Rome.
In 1993, Mr. Massey completed the Harvard Business School Owner/President Management Program. Harvey and Carol Massey have been married for 44 years. They have three children, ten grandchildren, and live in Winter Park, Florida.
BUD BREWER
President/CEO
Bud oversees the agency, provides strategic marketing services and counsel for selected clients, and leads staff development.
An award winning writer and broadcaster, Bud has been involved in mass media, advertising, public relations and strategic marketing in Central Florida since the mid-1970s. He joined the agency in 1986, but shifted his role to manage the marketing department of Massey Services from 1995-2001.
Bud has a long and diverse volunteer history with local arts and cultural organizations. He is currently serving as a member of the Orange County Arts & Cultural Affairs Advisory Council, the Board of Directors of United Arts of Central Florida, the Board of Governors for Orange County’s Central Receiving Center, and the Steering Committee for Share Our Strength’s “Taste of the Nation” in Orlando. Previously, Bud served on the boards of the Orange County Human Services Council, the Heart of Florida United Way and the Orange County Membership & Mission Review Board. He also served on the Orange County Arts & Cultural Affairs Task Force. He has been board president or chairman of UCP of Central Florida, the Volunteer Center of Central Florida, the Civic Theatres of Central Florida and Share Our Strength/Orlando.
He is married to Lynn Katz, Director of Project Management/Planning Operations for Lockheed Martin Enterprise Information Systems. Bud and Lynn reside in Winter Park, and have two grown daughters and two grandchildren.
TODD PERSONS
Vice Chairman of the Board
Todd oversees public relations accounts, as well as generates new business for the agency. Todd's contacts in the corporate, media and political arenas, amassed during his forty years in the business, make him an invaluable point person for local, state and national clients.
A background in broadcast and print media, Todd's resume includes reporter, editor and bureau chief at Orlando Sentinel; assistant news director at WKMG and WFTV (Orlando TV affiliates); Public Information Officer for the State Attorney's Office of the Ninth Judicial Court; and Press Secretary to former Orlando Mayor Bill Frederick. Todd was named Public Relations Professional of the Year by the Florida Public Relations Association, “Best PR Practitioner,” for three consecutive years by Orlando Business Journal and has also received awards from the Florida Press Association and Central Florida Press Club. Todd authored The Lonely Trip Back, published by Doubleday and Bantam Books and has been published in Time, The Christian Science Monitor, The National Enquirer, Central Florida Monthly, and Orlando Magazine.
Todd holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rollins College. He has served as a board member for community organizations, including Central Florida Zoological Society, Southern Ballet Theatre, Florida Symphony, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, and A Gift for Teaching.
He is married with five children and enjoys golf, gardening, classical music and fine wine.
KATHY PIERSON
Vice President
Kathy offers 18+ years of solid experience in public relations, with emphasis in special events and projects and media relationships. Her knowledge and involvement in professional and civic organizations combined with her creativity, enthusiasm and positive attitude add that "extra special zest" to client projects and public relations plans.
An active member of the Florida Public Relations Association for more than 20 years and graduate of Leadership Osceola, Kathy is actively involved in the Kissimmee/Osceola County Chamber of Commerce, the Cystic Fibrosis Association’s Great Strides Walk Committee Osceola, Boy’s & Girls Club Board for Osceola, serves on the board of the Education Foundation Osceola, Osceola Council on Aging as past-president and Marketing Committee Chair, volunteers with Osceola County Public Schools and was a founding board member of the Central Florida Children’s Museum. She also assisted with the application team for the All America City for the City of Kissimmee.
Kathy has been honored by the agency as Team Member of the Year and with the Todd Persons Diamond Award. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism with a specialty in Advertising/Public Relations from the University of Central Florida.
Kathy, her husband Dave, and their children Michele and Michael reside in Osceola County. In her leisure time, Kathy enjoys running spending time with her family, biking and shopping.
ANDREA MASSEY-FARRELL
Vice President
Representing over fifteen years of marketing, public relations and sales experience, Andrea oversees the agency’s day-to-day business operations, including managing financial and accounting functions, the office’s IT systems, human resource processes and office administrative duties. She is also a Certified Marketing Representative for the Yellow Pages Association, servicing yellow pages accounts, as well as planning and implementing yellow page advertising buys for the agency and its clients.
Andrea volunteers her time to organizations, such as the Children’s Liturgy program for St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church; the Winter Park Library Board of Trustees; the Winter Park Memorial Hospital Women’s Advisory Board; the Hamilton Holt School at Rollins College Advisory Board and Junior Achievement. She has served on boards of numerous organizations, including Morning Star School Women’s Auxiliary, American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Statewide Operating Committee; American Cancer Society Orlando Unit board; Advisory Board for Alpha Delta Pi at the University of Central Florida and the Greater Orlando Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae Association.
Andrea has been honored as agency Team Member of the Year. She graduated from Rollins College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in organizational communication.
An avid sports fan, Andrea enjoys reading, dancing and spending time with her family. She and her husband, James, She resides in Winter Park with her husband, James; their children, Ethan and Edward; and their dog, Winnie D. Pooh.
LYNNE GARROW
Director of Advertising Services
Lynne oversees media planning and placement for the agency, services advertising accounts and handles new business development for the advertising team. With more than 17 years of marketing, advertising and public relations experience on both the agency and client sides, Lynne has worked with health care, real estate, technology and hospitality-related clients, overseeing the media and public relations departments for a full-service advertising agency in Winter Park before joining Massey Communications.
Lynne serves on the board of directors of the Oviedo-Winter Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce, is a member of the Orlando Advertising Federation and a graduate of Leadership Seminole. She also volunteers with the Steering Committee for Taste of the Nation, Junior Achievement and as a Dividend with Seminole County Public Schools. She has served on the Bishop Grady Villas Harvest Ball Planning Committee, Oviedo Businesswoman’s Network and Oviedo Little League.
Lynne has been honored twice by her agency peers with the Todd Persons Diamond Award. She was awarded the Outstanding Service Award and Rookie Board Member of the Year by the Chamber, as well as the Florida Public Relations Association Award of Distinction for Printed Tools of Public Relations and a District Silver Angel Award from Orlando Advertising Federation.
A graduate of the University of Florida, Lynne has a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising and a minor in English. She lives in Oviedo with her husband Ken, and their children Cameron and Nicole. She enjoys being a mom, spending time at the beach, shopping and home decorating projects.
EARL MOWATT
Graphic Designer
With over 21 years of progressive accomplishments in art direction, graphic design and art production, Earl is a results-oriented creative professional with a strong sensibility for quickly assimilating new concepts and ideas. He is responsible for conceptualization, creative strategies, art direction and overseeing print production.
Earl started his career with USA Today and has since gained 20 years agency experience. He has designed for a variety of industries including advertising, multi-media, education, publishing, research, tourism, hospitality and entertainment. In his key assignments, Earl was instrumental in branding efforts for a municipality, insurance firm, luxury resorts and a technology organization which included establishing market identity and graphic standard procedures, as well as award-winning ad and direct mail campaigns.
Earl graduated from Pratt Institute in New York with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication design and from Rollins College with a master’s degree in liberal arts. Earl volunteers his time mentoring middle school students in Orange County Public Schools.
A New York transplant, Earl has lived in Central Florida for 10 years. In his leisure time, he enjoys reading, traveling, cultural entertainment and spending time with his family.
LAUREN LEETUN
Senior Account Executive
With over 5 years of experience in public relations research, copywriting and event coordination, Lauren services an array of PR accounts, including restaurant, real estate, educational, construction and healthcare industries. She is adept at using media monitoring tools to develop media contact lists, distribute press releases and analyze media coverage
Lauren was named the Team Member of the Year and also honored with the Todd Persons Diamond Award. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida in with dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in public relations and political science
An Orlando native, Lauren enjoys the area and rediscovering some of the unique treasures that the city has to offer. In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, traveling and working out.
SULTANA F. ALI
Account Executive
With professional experience in public relations, marketing and technical writing and over ten years of public speaking proficiency, Sultana works with PR clients within the real estate, construction, retail, service and government sectors. She assists with media relations, event planning, and community relations and produces a TV show on OrangeTV.
Sultana is a board member of both the Greater Orlando chapter and the national United Nations Association-USA (UNA-USA), serves on the International Board of Governors for the Central Florida International Chamber of Commerce and is also a volunteer with the Women’s Resource Center and Harbor House and the Orange County Center Against Domestic Violence.
Sultana has been honored with a Global Young Advocate Award from UNA-USA, the Central Florida Women’s Resource Center Junior Summit Award, the Girl Scout Council of Central Florida’s Young Woman of Distinction and was named one of Central Florida’s “13 Shining Stars” by Central Florida News13 and the American Red Cross. She also received the agency’s Todd Persons Diamond Award.
A Walt Disney Scholar and Florida Academic Scholar, Sultana graduated from University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business Marketing and a minor in Political Science where she was recognized with the J.C. Aspley award and scholarship, recognizing the top 15 of UCF’s marketing majors.
Sultana enjoys singing, rock climbing, adventurous sports and activities, and traveling.
MARISA CARROLL
Senior Associate
Marisa assists the PR team with media relations, publicity, special events, and research.
She comes to the agency with over four years of experience working for Florida Theatrical Association/SunTrust Broadway Across America – Orlando as Public Relations Manager.
Marisa graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rollins College with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts and a minor in Business Administration. While at Rollins, Marisa was the two-year Vice President of Public Relations for Kappa Delta Sorority, Social Chair for Rollins Players and involved in Student Government Association, Theta Alpha Phi, Omicron Delta Kappa, Rollins Dancers, WPRK and Student Involvement and Leadership.
She enjoys being active in her community and has volunteered for many events, such as the Melbourne Independent Film Festival and the Florida Film Festival. In her spare time, Marisa thrives on traveling, trying new restaurants, going to the theatre, dancing and spending time with friends and family.
MARQUIS DUNCAN
Senior Advertising Coordinator
Marquis assists with servicing ad accounts while also planning and placing media buys. He also works closely with the creative team to traffic design jobs.
Marquis is a member of Ad2, an affiliation of the Orlando Advertising Federation. He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with minors in Marketing and Mass Communications. While at UCF, Marquis actively participated in Quotes, the Ad/PR Club, and the student chapter of the FPRA. One of Marquis’ future aspirations is to earn his Masters in Mass Communications at UCF.
In his free time, Marquis enjoys spending time with friends and family, listening to music, going to the movies and cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Orlando Magic.
CRYSTAL BLACK GETTINGS
Senior Associate
Crystal is the second team member to receive the Massey Fellowship, an agency partnership with UCF which enables a recent graduate of the Advertising/PR program to work at MC for one year. As part of the fellowship, she works with both advertising and public relations clients, assisting with media research, writing, account planning and events.
Crystal received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Central Florida in May 2007. While in school, she completed two internships where she gained public relations experience in real estate, architecture, legal and governmental industries.
She is excited to be a UCF alumnus and to continue her involvement within the Orlando community. She remains active in the First Baptist Church of Winter Garden. In her leisure time, Crystal spends time with her family and friends and enjoys kickboxing, swimming and reading.
ALISON PRESLEY
Office Manager
Alison has been with the agency for over 10 years. She oversees the day-to-day administrative responsibilities, while supporting the principals and staff with research and writing assignments.
Alison graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations and a minor in English. She remains active with her college sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi; as an alumnus, she has served as Past President for the Greater Orlando Chapter and Scholarship and PR advisor for the Rollins College Chapter. She is also a board member of the Episcopal Counseling Center, where she offers recommendations to the Publicity Committee. In addition, Alison assists Agency President Bud Brewer with Taste of the Nation sponsorships.
An avid University of Alabama “Roll Tide” football fan, Alison enjoys spending her free time with her husband, James; daughter, Hallie, their dog, and by reading a good book.
